Bridge Project Engineer

Overview
We are looking for a Bridge Project Engineer to provide technical support for bridge design and inspection related tasks for state and local projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to be the lead designer on new and rehabilitated bridge projects of various sizes and scope. The ideal person will have interest in project management and will be mentored as a deputy project manager.
Job Description
Duties & Requirements
- Create bridge design computations, quantities, cost estimates, reports, specifications, and plans with direction from the Project Manager.
- Create agendas, meeting minutes, meeting preparation, and facilitate meetings.
- Communicate with clients over phone, email, and in-person.
- Work and coordinate with roadway, water, environmental, survey, and utility engineers.
- Assist with proposal writings, fee proposals, contracts, and project budgeting.
- Assist with bridge inspections, load ratings, data entry, reports, and provide recommendations for repairs and/or replacement.
- Create new design calculation templates.
- Provide input for company policies, standard practices, and company benefits.
- Assist and guide younger engineers and interns/co-ops.
- Ability to work in the office and remotely.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- 3+ years’ experience in bridge design,
- bridge inspection experience or interest is a bonus
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience using LEAP Conspan, Merlin-Dash, Bridge Rating BrR
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to safely traverse uneven terrain
